Blossom in the 50's

Hey, what's up?

I'm going to continue on the things I found out about rock and roll today and I thought we could explore the 50's music in depth.

So we all know that rock music came about because of the mix of R&B and country, of course, the rock music in those days sounds a bit different from now. As the years go, the sounds change a little to fit the times.

Anyway, back in the 50's, rock music had more of a country music twist to it. They even called it Rockabilly. There are so many good music from the time. Many may not know these songs today. Personally, I find them very catchy and it makes me want to move my body and dance to it. I found a list of the best 50 rock and roll music in the 50's on this website and I have to agree with it. Of course, lists like this sometimes change to fit an individual's taste but I think this is a good enough list.

So a little about this list; in 1955, rock and roll had it's first nationwide #1 hit! Thanks to Bill Haley's song, "Rock Around the Clock" which topped the Pop Charts. Then, in 1956, the King of Rock and Roll, Elvis Presley, topped the Pop Charts with his first RCA single release, "Heartbreak Hotel".

You could say the 50's was the rise of Rock and Roll and it started to become recognised by many. Unfortunately, the decade ended with a very very sad tragedy when Buddy Holly, The Big Bopper and Ritchie Valens died in a plane crash that happened in February 1959.

Here are some videos of the songs listed in the top 50's list I provided for you. I encourage you to go through the list to listen to more awesome rock music of the 50's.
